Bleeding dogs penis

My two year old unneutered Great Pyrenees started bleeding from his penis yesterday. He was losing large amounts of blood. I took him to our local vet and they discovered a cut on the inside of his penis. They had to put stitches in it and sent him home four hours later. He is on antibiotics, tranquilizer and estrogen to keep him calm. He is doing great, the bleeding stopped. I will be getting him neutered next week.
