Chicken Rice Diet for Dog Diarrhea?

I am surprised to see that so many suggest chicken-rice diet in cases of dog diarrhea. Chicken and beef are the greatest allergens with dogs. I have a 10yr old Lab who can't even think of chicken without Diarrhea or beef without having enormous problems with Malassezia Pahyodermitis...

You are right. For your dog, a chicken or beef and rice diet would be the absolutely wrong thing to give in the face of diarrhea. But for a dog without allergies to these ingredients (most dogs do not suffer from food allergies or intolerances), this diet is an appropriate response to a mild case of gastroenteritis.

You have to know your own pet. What works for one dog is not necessarily right for the next.

This is first time my self also hearing a dog diarrhea can be given a chicken rice meal. My dog is suffering with Diarrhea and I am just giving soup and light meal. If it is true, I will give my dog chicken rice meal. I will confirm with my vet and then proceed.
